Home to one of the best views of the Charlotte skyline and scenic Little Sugar Creek Greenway, this modern district stays active with shoppers, bikers and walkers alike.
Just blocks from Uptown, the Midtown neighborhood has it’s own urban identity. This retail mecca started in 1959 with Charlottetown Mall, the first enclosed shopping mall in the Southeast. It boasted department stores and a million-dollar twin theater—North Carolina’s first. Over the years, the once-booming space couldn’t compete with new malls sprouting up around the city. But in the mid-2000s, developers landed on the right combination: a multiple-story blend of offices, condos, upscale restaurants and trendy retailers.
The plentiful walking and biking paths of the Greenway, offer bikers, runners and walkers a little oasis of their own.
